Did Mike Pompeo Think He Could Visit Ventura County and Not Get Protested?

On Sunday afternoon, Mike Pompeo delivered a speech at the Reagan Library and many of us from Indivisible Ventura joined in with our sister group and protest organizer, Indivisible Simi Valley, to “welcome” him to Simi Valley!

Driving in, we saw banners strewn across overpasses!

Outside of the Reagan Library, protest songs blared as we “greeted” Mr. Pompeo and his guests with signs and dancing as they arrived to hear his speech on Iran.

This is an nation-wide event planned as a rapid response protest in the event that Donald Trump fires special counsel Robert Mueller. Please note that the listed date is a placeholder and will be updated to be within 24 hours of the firing, should it occur.

Dear Grassroots & Democratic Friends,

There is widespread concern that Robert Mueller will be fired — an attempt by Trump to stop the investigation into his ties to Russian oligarchs, his financial entanglements, and conspiracy to help a foreign entity affect our democratic election.

We have organized a Rapid Response Flash protest that will occur in coordination with the national host of the event, MoveOn. (If you haven’t sign up yet, RSVP here. Too far away, check out local rallies here.) It is expected that Trump will fire chief investigator, Mueller, during the upcoming Christmas Recess when members of the House and Senate will not be in Washington, DC to obstruct Trump’s desire to be rid of the legal investigation.

Therefore, we must stand ready to join together in protest. So many have signed up to attend, that it would be impossible for me to call each of you on the day that the firing occurs. To get a notification of the day and time of our assembly, you will need to to enroll to receive a text message by:

This Week in Resistance – “Snatch a knot in their Ass” Edition

Yes, we can take a well-earned minute to glory in the GOP’s healthcare debacle in the Senate Thursday night. But not for long, as it was a very close vote. 49 senators voted against all decency and humanity to risk destroying our healthcare system, people’s lives and a major part of our economy.

Our President has vowed to destroy any bits of Obamacare that survived this vote, while his minions work tirelessly to dismantle every aspect of our government and sell off its parts to the highest or most well-connected bidders.

But that’s business as usual…at least, for one of his businesses.

In addition to learning a sprightly new phrase from Georgia Congressman Buddy Carter, who spent, good god, a whole 27.5 hours working on this healthcare thing, let’s talk about what happened this week…

If Mueller is Fired, we WILL (Flash Mob) Protest. Details here!

In the event of Trump firing special counsel, Robert Mueller, Venturans are prepared to hold a FLASH MOB PROTEST for the day when this move occurs.

(Co-sponsored by GrassrootsVentura and Indivisible Ventura. Similar events are being planned throughout the nation.)

Clearly the firing of Mueller would be an attempt to quash the investigation of Trump and his campaign. This would make the firing an obstruction of justice, an impeachable offense, and probably a partial admission of guilt by POTUS.

Protestors will thus be standing up for American Justice, the Constitution’s systems of checks and balances, and calling for the impeachment of DJT.

As soon as such news breaks, Rapid Resistance Protestors will begin to assemble at the corner of Telephone & Victoria, by the Ventura County Government Center. Participants should start getting their signs made now.

No specific date can be posted here at this time. However, as soon as the news of the firing is made public, we must be ready to assemble beginning at 3:00 PM.
