Yes, we can take a well-earned minute to glory in the GOP’s healthcare debacle in the Senate Thursday night. But not for long, as it was a very close vote. 49 senators voted against all decency and humanity to risk destroying our healthcare system, people’s lives and a major part of our economy.
Our President has vowed to destroy any bits of Obamacare that survived this vote, while his minions work tirelessly to dismantle every aspect of our government and sell off its parts to the highest or most well-connected bidders.
But that’s business as usual…at least, for one of his businesses.
In addition to learning a sprightly new phrase from Georgia Congressman Buddy Carter, who spent, good god, a whole 27.5 hours working on this healthcare thing, let’s talk about what happened this week…

As McConnell was signing off last night from his colossal failure to pass any GOP healthcare bill, he mentioned in passing that he was now going to concentrate on getting nominees passed. So we should probably concentrate on getting them stopped.

Yesterday, we posted the Friday 10-minute Resistance Diet. It consisted of 3 issues for our senators and 2 for our representative, plus 2 written regulatory comments. If one keeps the written comments short and pithy, it can be done in LESS than 10 minutes. I used the spare time to call a few more of Feinstein’s offices.
– Why do I need to do this? Aren’t there enough of you people doing this already?
What the GOP is doing can cost you thousands of dollars, a bankruptcy, or even your health, your life or the life of someone you care about. Pretty big stakes. Yeah, we’re crazy committed, but we can’t personally make the thousands of calls a day that are necessary to make the GOP nervous. Please jump in. It gets faster and easier. It makes you powerful.

Net neutrality protects our free speech on the Internet. The FCC wants to destroy net neutrality and give internet service providers like Comcast, Verizon, and AT&T control over what we see and do online. If they get their way, they’ll allow widespread throttling, blocking, censorship, and extra fees.
July 12th, the Internet came together to stop them!
