USA is Not for Sale – Thank our MoC for insisting Trump complies with the emoluments clause

 

Because Trump refuses to divest himself of his business holdings or fully disclose his conflicts of interest to Congress, 196 members of congress have filed a lawsuit to force Trump to comply with the emoluments clause in the constitution.  Let’s take some time today to thank Representative [Carbajal/Brownley], who has signed on to the lawsuit.

March for Truth: Get your signs, grab your sunblock, relocate your hat & water bottle!

On Saturday, June 3, both Santa Barbara and Los Angeles will be holding a March for Truth. The goals are simple and bipartisan (at least, theoretically):

  • Establish a fully funded, non-partisan independent commission;
  • As much information as possible should be made public as soon as possible;
  • Congress should require Donald Trump to release his tax returns to clarify his business interests and obligations to any foreign entity;
  • If crimes were committed or if collusion is discovered, they must be prosecuted.

Those are goals we can all get behind!

Trump’s budget cuts 25% from the food stamp (SNAP) budget. 45 million Americans, nearly half of them children who rely on food stamps. Studies consistently show that SNAP reduces hunger and food insecurity and provides lasting health benefits to recipients. SNAP is also an important way to lift families out of poverty, and to tide them over during times of economic insecurity.

Hey Rosenstein: You Helped Fire Comey, the Least you can do is Appoint a Special Prosecutor!

Call the Department of Justice, Rod Rosenstein, 202-353-1555: Ask for a Special Prosecutor.

Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, on “trumped-up” charges by Jeff Sessions that Hilary was treated “unfairly”. Comey confirmed to the Senate that the Trump team was indeed under FBI investigation for collaborating with Russia during the election. Ask the DOJ for a truly independent special prosecutor and an independent commission.
