Trump’s budget cuts 25% from the food stamp (SNAP) budget. 45 million Americans, nearly half of them children who rely on food stamps. Studies consistently show that SNAP reduces hunger and food insecurity and provides lasting health benefits to recipients. SNAP is also an important way to lift families out of poverty, and to tide them over during times of economic insecurity.

Script: I’m calling to ask (____) to oppose any cuts to SNAP.  I do not support funding tax cuts for the wealthy by cutting critical food assistance to families and children.
