Block Trump from sabotaging the ACA

Trump doesn’t need the Senate to make Obamacare “implode.” In the works is a plan to withhold payments that enable insurers to offer lower-cost individual insurance plans. He’s also discouraging the IRS from enforcing the individual mandate. Meanwhile Tom Price, Health and Human Services secretary, has been misdirecting funds for enrollment outreach to make videos critical of the ACA. Call an end to all of this sabotage.

2. Public comment on retaining 5-yr. moratorium on offshore oil leasing until Aug. 17.

3. Pruitt is attacking the definition of “Waters of the United States” to assist polluters and those who would destroy wetlands. Comments due 8/28/17.

4. Take Action: Submit a public comment against the Keystone XL pipeline here.

If Mueller is Fired, we WILL (Flash Mob) Protest. Details here!

In the event of Trump firing special counsel, Robert Mueller, Venturans are prepared to hold a FLASH MOB PROTEST for the day when this move occurs.

(Co-sponsored by GrassrootsVentura and Indivisible Ventura. Similar events are being planned throughout the nation.)

Clearly the firing of Mueller would be an attempt to quash the investigation of Trump and his campaign. This would make the firing an obstruction of justice, an impeachable offense, and probably a partial admission of guilt by POTUS.

Protestors will thus be standing up for American Justice, the Constitution’s systems of checks and balances, and calling for the impeachment of DJT.

As soon as such news breaks, Rapid Resistance Protestors will begin to assemble at the corner of Telephone & Victoria, by the Ventura County Government Center. Participants should start getting their signs made now.

No specific date can be posted here at this time. However, as soon as the news of the firing is made public, we must be ready to assemble beginning at 3:00 PM.

Yes on SB 149. No Tax Returns? No space on the California ballot. SAD!

Legislation to require presidential candidates to disclose their last 5 years of tax returns in order to gain a spot on California’s presidential primary ballot passed the CA Senate. Now we need to get the Assembly to pass it too. Where we go, others will follow. This is one way to make sure we know who our candidates for President are working for.

The Stupid Border Wall is not JUST a waste of money. It threatens our biggest wildlife refuges.

Although Trump has concerns for drug dealers throwing bags over the wall, he hasn’t given any thought to wildlife. Initial construction testing has begun on a section that would split an refuge ecosystem in two. Negative wildlife impact from border fencing has been well-documented, and this unnecessary barrier will harm our wildlife and the environment.

Trump has put our Channel Islands are on the block. We need more time to fight.

Rep. Carbajal (D-CA) and Senator Gary Peters (D-MI), are urging U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross to extend the public comment period to 90 days on Executive Order 13795 which would roll back environmental protections of Marine Sanctuaries (read Channel Islands).

No more swamp creatures. Vote No on Bernhardt for Deputy Secretary of the Interior

David Bernhardt, a darling lobbyist of the oil and gas industry, who regularly sues the Interior Department on behalf of his corporate clients, could be number two in command of protecting public lands and waters. This is a nominee with enough conflicts of interest to make ethics watchdogs’ heads explode. His confirmation vote could happen as early as today or tomorrow.
