Here’s the latest in the fight for Alabama. There’s lots we can do to help.

Helping from far away or in Alabama…

#1. Help Color of Change get people registered.

Today, Monday, Nov. 27th, until 11:59 p.m., is the deadline for Voter Registration. News outlets are calling this race a statistical tie between Doug Jones, who prosecuted KKK members for killing four little girls in a church bombing,  and Roy Moore, a racist, homophobe and accused predatory pedophile. This is why we need to mobilize right now. Tomorrow will be too late. Help Color of Change pay for digital ads encouraging people to register.

They’ve been testing ads for the past few days, and they estimate that they can get 5 new Alabama voters to an online registration page for about $10.

If enough of us chip in, we can register thousands of voters in the next 24 hours and shift the tides of this race.

Help reach 5 new Alabama voters before the deadline ($10)

Help reach 20 new Alabama voters before the deadline ($40)

Help reach 50 new Alabama voters before the deadline ($100)

…or donate another amount.

#2. Tell you friends and relatives in Alabama to Register! Pass this information on in your social media!

Join us for a Alabama Senate Race Postcard Party!

We will be joining a national effort to help elect Doug Jones of Alabama to the US Senate. The election is on Dec 12, so we need to get to cracking and take one more step to getting a majority back in the Senate!

Our appeal will be directly to the voters in Alabama – NOT mass political mailings, because all of our cards will be handwritten. Each will be a message from one voter to another. We are simply asking Alabamans to do that most American thing — VOTE!

Join a party in Ventura at one of the times below so we can have fun while writing and personalizing the cards.

Please pick a day from the list below, and let us know when you would like to join.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO RSVP to Ruth at jeruth51@aol.com (RSVP and we’ll send you the address!):

Thursday, November 30, 10:00 AM

As Senator Murkowski said, “She did not come to Washington to hurt people.” Let’s thank her.

Thanks to three Republican women senators, Obamacare might just survive the GOP’s campaign to repeal it. The fight is not over, so keep calling our own senators with words of encouragement in this fight, but let’s thank these women for their courage to stand up against their own party and for wanting to see something better for their constituents and the rest of us.

Your Weekly Dose of Sanity Saving Good News!

Be the Inspiration.

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. ~John Quincy Adams

You never know when you’re someone else’s inspiration.

In 1963, a group of women protested (in the rain) in front of the Kennedy White House. They were there on behalf of Women Strike for Peace – an antinuclear organization that began when the founder got fed up and started a telephone tree to rally fellow mothers against nuclear testing. At that time, the U.S. was still conducting aboveground nuclear testing and radioactive fallout was showing up in breast milk and baby teeth. Women Strike for Peace was advocating for the testing to end.

So there they were, standing in front of the White House on a rainy morning in 1963.

A participant later admitted that, standing there in the rain, she felt “foolish, and futile”. Continue reading “Your Weekly Dose of Sanity Saving Good News!”

A Bit of Much Needed Fun – After a Tumultuous Week! Sally Yates, John Oliver, Seth Myers… Thank you!

Thanks to Raul Labrador and Mark Twain for the above great laugh, a cynical laugh, but still a laugh.

Thanks to Sally Yates for beating Ted Cruz at his own game this piece of political theater!

Thanks to John Oliver for this lovely link and hysterical (yet important) video on Net Neutrality (it’s a bit bawdy, you are forewarned!):

Thanks to Seth Meyers for the great image of Trump as the “ghost” villian in Scooby-doo:

and this one with Paul Ryan fighting against Paul Ryan: Continue reading “A Bit of Much Needed Fun – After a Tumultuous Week! Sally Yates, John Oliver, Seth Myers… Thank you!”

Thank You for Support of Independent Commission Email or Postcard

Sen. Feinstein is an original cosponsor of S.27, the Senate bill to establish an independent commission to investigate Russian interference in our election. Rep. Brownley is a cosponsor of the House version (HR 356). Thank them for their leadership on this critical issue, while urging them to keep the focus and pressure on the investigation.

Send an Email or Postcard:
Senator Feinstein (Rep. Brownley),
Thank you for standing up to demand an independent commission to investigate the Russian interference in our election. Even before the obvious partisanship of House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devon Nunes’ derailing of his own investigation and the GOP-led Senate investigation wallowing to a standstill, you were out in front demanding that this issue was too important to be left in the hands of Trump’s party allies. Thank you for for continuing to call for a transparent and comprehensive 9/11 style investigation into what may be this generations’ Watergate.

Email: Congresswoman Julia Brownley: https://juliabrownley.house.gov/contact/email-me
