OMG, this seems like so long ago…We miss you all and hope to see you soon. Stay well.
TODAY – Thursday, 5/21: If you haven’t emailed us for postcards to do at home, please do so now!
Indivisible Chicago Alliance is reaching out to voters in both Wisconsin and Michigan. We asked to join in, for whichever state they needed the help for more. We just received 2500 cards for Michigan, hopefully the first of many thousands to arrive there by way of concerned citizens in Ventura County
If you’ve already received cards from us, you are on our nifty new spreadsheet and we’ll be sending your orders out shortly.
If you haven’t received cards from us, please send us an email to indivisibleventura@gmail.com with “SEND ME POSTCARDS!” in the subject line. Please include your name, your full mailing address, your phone number in case we have questions, how many postcards you want and whether or not you also need stamps.
Instead of walking around in the sun, knocking on doors, we can relax at home and call instead!
Join our good friends at Grassroots Democrats for this remote phonebanking event to GOTV(Get Out The Vote) for this Indivisible-endorsed candidate. The special election for CA-25’s congressional seat is coming up fast and they need a lot of help to elect Christy Smith and keep this district BLUE. The event kicks off at 2 p.m. with a Zoom-call “rally” featuring Christy herself. You’ll get all the training you need, and you can make calls for as long as you have the time.
Virtual Day of Action for Christy Smith/phonebanking until May 12th!
Write postcards for Christy Smith!
Indivisible Ventura’s “Third Thursday” GOTV postcards for voters in AZ.
Donations, both money and LEGOS, are needed for our immigrant community!

Our country may be on lockdown, but the resistance is flexible…
We at Indivisible Ventura assessed our activity calendar to see what we could still accomplish during this quarantine period. The answer? A lot, just not the activities that require us to be in the same place. Keep calling your legislators, keep writing comments to the regulators, and participate in the peaceful democratic actions outlined below that connect us to writers, texters, callers and voters across America.
All activities located on college campuseshave been cancelled until the quarantine is lifted. This includes all our voter registration and census education dates.
Both citizenship fairs this month have been cancelled. If you are a person or know a person needing immigration services, including citizenship forms, DACA and green card renewals, please contact our trusted partners for assistance:
Postcard Action #1 – UPDATE: The April 16th’s Postcard Party is CANCELLED – but that doesn’t mean 500 folks in Arizona won’t be getting hand-written postcards!
We will be putting together kits of cards, scripts and addresses for Arizona – We’ll be sending 500 postcards to voters along with a short script from Center For Common Ground’s Reclaim our Vote Campaign, who is working with the NAACP, Black Voters Matter, Mi Familia Vota, VoteRiders and DemLabs. These voters may have been dropped from voting rolls. This reminder postcard could save voters being turned away, a horrible experience, after waiting hours in line. The dignity of very single vote matters.
For those who have already attended our postcard parties, here’s what we need from you to get your kit:

We need everyone to vote. If you’ve been waiting on the sidelines, it’s time to join in to make this happen.
The GOP is a minority party. The only way they can stay in charge of a huge populace who disagrees with their policies is by cheating and voter suppression, including repressive laws and divisive social media campaigns, the latter aided by their Russian allies. The 2016 election was close enough to allow the Electoral College system to take it away from the majority for the second time in the last five elections. We won’t be able to fix the iniquities of this system before the November election, so let’s focus on what we can do. What we need is a landslide. What we need is the 91 million voters. What we need to do is wake the sleeping giant amongst us. Today we are concentrating on just two strategies.
Action #1 – Reach out to disenfranchised voters across America.
Today, we’re featuring FOUR great events to put on your calendar, including our pizza/postcard party happening today! Ventura’s resistance movement is strong and varied. Check out the entire list and keep track here. Send additions for the list to indivisibleventura@gmail.com

With the help of postcard writers from all over the US, 80,000 people of color in Dallas County have been alerted that their rights to vote might be in danger.
Next month, the campaign will send us addresses for the next area of deliberate voter disenfranchisement. Community of color voters are being placed on “Inactive” or “Unregistered” lists at a 16% higher rate than whites. Learn more about this campaign here.
