  • Candidate statement:

Hi Neighbors,
My name is Mathew Perelman, and I’m running for the Bell Canyon Community Services District Board.
My connection to Bell Canyon began when I was eight years old. I became close friends with the granddaughter of Ed and Mildred Berger and spent time at their home on Buckskin. I fell in love with the mountains, wildlife, horses, community events, and the way neighbors came together.
I also used my first Apple computer at their home, where I would draw pictures of the house. Something I discovered as a child in Bell Canyon eventually became my career. Today, I am a Partner at MacEnthusiasts, an Apple technology sales and rental company.
Ed Berger served on the Bell Canyon CSD Board and became an important mentor in my life, teaching me about business, integrity, responsibility, and giving back.
Today, I’m the second owner of my childhood dream home at 101 Buckskin — a place that has been part of my life for decades.
I moved here with my partner, Luis Perelman, with the hope of building our family and adopting a child soon. We both serve on the Events Committee, and Luis volunteers at nearly every community event he can. I still love the horses as much as I did as a kid and hope one day our child will grow up riding here too.
I believe CSD Directors should live in Bell Canyon, experience the community firsthand, and have a direct stake in the decisions they make.
At MacEnthusiasts, I manage people, budgets, logistics, technology, and complex projects for major events and organizations across the country. I want to bring that practical experience and responsible stewardship to the CSD.
I have already spent hundreds of hours volunteering for Bell Canyon. I built a website to help residents understand the financial and governance challenges of the past, and I helped create Bell Canyon’s first free pumpkin patch by securing donations so residents could receive pumpkins at no cost and meet their neighbors and CSD representatives.
I want to continue creating events and traditions that bring our community together.
I can also bring real-world experience to emergency communications. MacEnthusiasts deploys Starlink and other communications systems for major events, television, and film productions, and I would like to use that experience to improve emergency connectivity and preparedness in Bell Canyon.
I believe a Board works best when its members collaborate, ask tough questions, disagree respectfully, and still move forward together. Ethical, honest, and transparent leadership matters.
After a series of difficult years, Bell Canyon has an opportunity to continue building a more positive next chapter — one focused on community, collaboration, transparency, and moving forward together.
In honor of Ed Berger, who gave back to this community and taught me so much, I would now like the opportunity to do the same.
I would be honored to earn your vote and serve as your Bell Canyon CSD Director.
