Sunday Dec. 2nd: Mark your calendar! We will NOT be silently complicit to crimes against humanity.

On November 25, 2018, U.S. Border Agents fired tear gas and rubber bullets at a group of immigrants crossing into San Diego from Tijuana, Mexico, including young children. These policies are cruel and unjustified, and must be loudly rejected as the crimes against humanity that they were. The people who were fired upon are fleeing dangerous conditions and have the human and legal right to seek asylum in the U.S.

Join Families Belong Together, along with Indivisible Ventura and all of our friends, for a Sunday afternoon rally on Dec. 2nd, 2 pm – 4 pm, at the Ventura County Government Center, to say, “STOP THE TEARS.”

Bring American flags, signs and the spirit of your own family’s history of asylum-seeking refugees.

Share this link with your friends and family and ask them to join us.

Wed. – 11/21: Tell Congress to do its damn job!

Action – Stop this road trip to infamy. Tell Congress to hold Saudi Arabia accountable.

Checks and balances are meaningless if Congress doesn’t exercise them. They are supposed to be in charge of authorizing war, not the President, not foreign leaders, and not Boeing or Lockheed. The U.S. must pull back from unconditional support for Saudi Arabia, and the best way is for Congress to tell the Saudis (and  Trump) that the U.S. will no longer be complicit in Saudi crimes, including the starvation and disease decimating the population in Yemen. The sponsors of the House resolution recently tried to force a floor vote, but Paul Ryan and the House GOP blocked them. The Senate is expected to take a vote on their resolution soon after Thanksgiving. Continue reading “Wed. – 11/21: Tell Congress to do its damn job!”

Tues – 11/20: Our actions help take back the House. We can stop gun shows here too.

October 1st marked the one-year anniversary of the Las Vegas mass shooting, where 59 innocent people were murdered, and more than 500 others were injured. This November 7th, some of the survivors went through the same trauma again at our popular dance spot, the Borderline. 12 people died, including an armed law enforcement officer.

We are beyond “thoughts and prayers” over gun violence.

We have learned from this last election, that regular citizens, with both individual and group actions, can profoundly change this world for the better.

Here is what you can do right now and this is what we can do together.

Action #1 – Sign and share this petition

Take an action TODAY to end the proliferation of guns via the gun shows at the Ventura County Fairgrounds and our state profiting off of gun and ammunition sales. Help end the CROSSROADS of THE WEST (COTW) contract with Ventura County . (See “Background” below regarding some highly problematic issues with this promoter.)

Wed 11/14: Homework for the Resistance

Action #1 – Hold hands. Step up.

No, politics is never going back to the way it was before…where we could just vote for a president every 4 years and then go back to sleep…content that the America of our dreams – the respected bastion of freedom and democracy, would still be there waiting when we woke up. We are awake now. We know what we’ve lost, and what many of our neighbors never had. We united ourselves into a movement that took back the House and now, we prepare for the next chapter…

Action #2 – Message from Indivisible
