Get the truth out of Exxon! Have they been misleading us?

Script: I am urging CA Attorney General Xavier Becerra (800-952-5225) to join the attorneys general of Massachusetts and New York in their investigation into Exxon efforts to mislead the public about the effects of fossil fuels on our climate. Exxon may still be perpetrating this fraudulent scheme on investors and the public. If so, they must be stopped and prosecuted.

Yesterday’s post in our “This Week in Resistance” blog included an article stating that with every horrible action Trump has taken, there’s been an equal and opposite action from the resistance and others. The author called it the “Boomerang Effect”.

So now, despite our 1.5 million pleas to the contrary, the president has gone ahead and put our national monuments on the auction block for oil, uranium and timber extraction. And amongst the usual resistance groups who started speaking out against the destruction of our heritage, up pops this 9 year old kid, Robbie Bond.

Write to show your outrage! We don’t want another oil spill!

Please take a moment to add some comments on why retaining the 5-year moratorium on offshore oil leasing is important to you. Deadline is Aug. 17th.

Trump has signed an executive order to review oil and gas drilling in federally prohibited waters as well as in marine sanctuaries. Environmental groups fear a repeat of the BP Oil spill.

Protect our Marine Sanctuaries – We don’t want our precious islands ruined!

Please take a moment to add some comments on why protecting our marine sanctuaries, such as our own Channel Islands, is important to you. Deadline has been extended to Aug. 15th.

The National Monument review continues with the Santa Barbara Channel Islands and three other unique marine sanctuaries and monuments. So far only ±74,000 people have commented.

Stop this Trojan Horse full of dirty energy policies! S1460 is SCARY.

Mitch McConnell is fast-tracking this 900-page monster through the Senate that will increase U.S. dependence on fossil fuels. It’s on the floor and could go for a vote at any time and they’re hoping you won’t notice it. Please call your two senators and ask them to OPPOSE S1460. If you called before, please call again.. We need everyone to pile on this one.

Script: I’m calling to tell Senator [____] to vote “NO” on S1460, the massive energy bill being rushed through the Senate. It’s opposed by conservation, water, farming, and even industry groups because it will only increase our country’s dependence on fossil fuels and further endanger the environment.

There is a growing movement across the west (including Alaska) of anti federal lands militant groups (AKA the anti federal land militia movement) emboldened by the current political climate in Washington DC.

These armed militants who have harassed federal land managers, regularly vandalize federal property, took part in a armed take over of a national wildlife refuge in Washington state (which cost the American taxpayer 3 million dollars in damage) and sent armed sharpshooters to confront Bureau of Land Management rangers over public lands protection in a well publicized armed standoff in southern Nevada will stop at nothing in their armed struggle against the U.S. Government over YOUR national public lands.
