UPDATE: THE GREAT VOTER SUPPRESSION BILL has just passed through the House! Even more horrible, four Democratic-name-only legislators helped! Reps. Ed Case of Hawaii; Henry Cuellar of Texas; Jared Golden of Maine; and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington state.
How close can they get to their ideal before the midterms? A lot closer if they can pass the SAVE Act, a cynically named elitist bill that’s actually a form of voter suppression against women, poorer American citizens and minorities – all those whom the GOP suspects will vote for Democrats.

Arrive as close to 5:00 pm as possible. Item may be heard at ±6:00pm – Location: Ventura City Hall
The Community Autonomy, Rights, and Equality (CARE) Policy which will be heard at the Ventura City Council on Tuesday, March 18th. (Agenda) This is an important democratic-values issue, and Oxnard, Simi, TO, and Santa Barbara will all be watching to see how it plays out.
ACTION:
- We need to make our Democrat-endorsed councilmembers aware of our expectations BEFORE THE MEETING!
- Contact your city council member with the email in the chart below and tell them you want them to vote “YES” on Item #15. For the ones marked “D”, you can use the word “democratic values” somewhere in your message. For the others, remind them that there are vulnerable people in their district and they are responsible for representing them as well.

Please overlay the Peoples Union boycotts with the 40-day Lenten Fast from Corporations: A Call to Spiritual Resistance.(targetfast.org), from March 5-April 17.
It’s time for all of us to step up and do these actions. No one will hit us with clubs, spray us with fire hoses, set dogs on us, or in the case of the 1963 Jackson, Mississippi lunch counter protest, cover us with condiments.
Along with all the one-week actions, all anyone has to do is NOT SHOP AT TARGET again until after April 17th. 40 days is long enough to make a serious impression on Target, if WE DO IT!
