NO on HR. 2090 “Election Integrity”Act. Yet another suppression bill that will disenfranchise millions of voters!

H.R. 2090 is a “solution” in search of a problem. Instead of requiring photo ID’s to discourage minorities and the poor from voting, Congress should invest in in updating and securing our nation’s voting systems. Voter ID laws only serve to marginalize already marginalized communities. Making it harder for US citizens to vote is un-American.

Script: I’m calling Rep (____) to vote NO on H.R. 2090, the Election Integrity Act. Some Americans can’t afford two hours off work to get to a distant center to get a photo ID. This law amounts to a poll tax penalizing the poorest Americans.

No to gutting our Consumer Banking Protections – A recipe for recession!

The new House Financial Services spending bill makes sweeping changes to the financial regulatory system by revising the protections that were put in place after the 2008-2009 economic crash. It sneaks in 88 pages of the odious and misleading HR 10 – “Financial Choice Act” to control and weaken the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Financial Stability Oversight Council, and the SEC regulations that prevent commercial banks from trading for their own gain. This way, they can still grab power even if the Senate refuses to pass HR 10.

[____] to oppose the Financial Services 2018 spending bill’s funding changes and new enforcement limitations on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and other banking regulators. Stop this Trojan Horse full of dirty energy policies! S1460 is SCARY.

Mitch McConnell is fast-tracking this 900-page monster through the Senate that will increase U.S. dependence on fossil fuels. Block Trump from sabotaging the ACA

Trump doesn’t need the Senate to make Obamacare “implode.” In the works is a plan to withhold payments that enable insurers to offer lower-cost individual insurance plans. He’s also discouraging the IRS from enforcing the individual mandate. Meanwhile Tom Price, Health and Human Services secretary, has been misdirecting funds for enrollment outreach to make videos critical of the ACA. Call an end to all of this sabotage.

Playing chicken with our health…

This horrendous game continues with a mystery bill. But we can still win this!

Whatever Mitch McConnell comes up with to get 50 votes will be a nightmare for any state. However, by using budget reconciliation, legislation has to comply with the Byrd Rule, as judged by the Senate Parliamentarian. Democrats must call out any provision (and there are at least seven of them) that don’t comply.

How do we win? We bury them ALL in calls.

If they are Democrats, they need your support AND big call tallies to show their GOP colleagues.

If they are Republicans, tell them to start collecting packing boxes. If you have friends or family with GOP senators, have them join you in this battle.

Yes on SB 149. No Tax Returns? No space on the California ballot. SAD!

Legislation to require presidential candidates to disclose their last 5 years of tax returns in order to gain a spot on California’s presidential primary ballot passed the CA Senate. Now we need to get the Assembly to pass it too. Where we go, others will follow. This is one way to make sure we know who our candidates for President are working for.

The Stupid Border Wall is not JUST a waste of money. It threatens our biggest wildlife refuges.

Although Trump has concerns for drug dealers throwing bags over the wall, he hasn’t given any thought to wildlife. Initial construction testing has begun on a section that would split an refuge ecosystem in two. Negative wildlife impact from border fencing has been well-documented, and this unnecessary barrier will harm our wildlife and the environment.
