Will the 1,501st addition to their pathetic collection come from right here in Ventura County? Mr. Boyer may have thought he was just teaching us a lesson, but you and our county and state election officials will be the judge. Roll the film!
Why are we doing this? Project 2025 is the GOP’s authoritarian roadmap to dismantling a thriving, inclusive democracy for all, and Trump’s Agenda 47 will set us on fire!
TLDR? We’ve reduced Project 2025’s +900 pages to 4, along with great short videos! Spanish translation at end.
TLDR? We’ve reduced Trump’s equally alarming Agenda 47 here. Note! Project 2025 is a prerequisite for Trump to be able to effectively institute his terrifying and corrupt schemes. SCOTUS giving him absolute immunity for crimes against humanity has come in the nick of time.

Action #1: 12/14/2023 – VENTURA – Attend a meeting! Pesticide Notification Public Hearing In Ventura (4:30 pm) Ventura County Fairgrounds, Santa Rosa Hall, 10 West Harbor Blvd., Ventura.
On Thursday afternoon, we have an opportunity locally to speak out for Environmental Justice, calling for the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) to protect farmworkers (and schoolchildren, and the rest of us!) from fumigant pesticide exposure. DPR is taking comments regarding their statewide program for notification of the application of certain pesticides–we must let them know that their system needs to be more specific than they have planned right now.
Public health data show that the incident of childhood asthma is increasing, and in part that’s because fumigant pesticides are all too frequently applied without us knowing it. We all breathe the same air. We all need to be protected from fumigant pesticide exposure. DPR needs to step up and do that.
NOTIFICATION: Demand that the proposed notification system inform the public of the exact location, date, and time that a pesticide will be applied so that adequate protective precautions can be taken.
RECOMMENDED SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: Farmworkers need to know if protective clothing should be worn and specific behaviors engaged in to keep their exposure risk minimal.
CHILD SAFETY: Schools need to know when to warn families that airborne pesticides are going to be wafting through the environment from nearby agricultural fields, threatening their children’s well-being.
Before Trump left office, he signed “Schedule F,” an executive order to fill the entire executive branch with his lackeys. Biden rescinded it, but without a law, it waits for any GOP president to resurrect a “spoils” system of corruption!
With the backing of the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 – the ‘Far-Right Playbook for American Authoritarianism‘, Trump has repeated his threat to “gut the existing U.S. government and ‘install a pre-vetted, pro-Trump army of up to 54,000 loyalists’ to take over senior legal, judicial, defense, regulatory, and domestic policy jobs in the civil service.” This would effectively removing any guardrails to his actions, no matter how unconstitutional or destructive they may be. By removing career officials’ protection from forced politicization with “Schedule F, “…Donald Trump is telling us, loud and clear, that he wants to end American democracy as we know it.”
ACTION #1: Call your representatives!
We originally published this post in August of 2022. We have updated the bill numbers and names.
See ProPublica’s report on Clarence Thomas’ corruption here (Harlan Crow) and here (Koch Network). The video report is here.
Act now: Call/email your legislators to call out SCOTUS corruption!
Minimal email/call script for representatives: I’m calling from [zip code] and I want Rep. [___] to know that we are not falling for the Supreme Court’s new enforcement-free “code of conduct” that continues to privilege wealthy conservative billlionaires over the interests of the rest of us. It also gives a free pass to misconduct that could have affected earlier decisions and discourages recusals in future ones. I want to thank Rep. [Brownley/Carbajal] for co-sponsoring H.R. 926 the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act, which creates a way to investigate and disqualify corrupted justices.
The party of “Grifters, Oligarchs and Polluters” is up to their old tricks – inserting a rotten core into an emergency bill to serve their masters – the wealthiest 1% and large corporations.
In CA, we understand that our immigrant community is vital to our economy and essential services. Over 20,000 indigenous Mexicans live in Ventura County alone, and of these, 17,000 work in agriculture, doing the backbreaking labor that puts food on our tables and keeps our local agricultural economy strong.
FIRST, Republican state AGs demand out-of-state private medical records to hunt their residents down. NOW, over 50 cities in Texas have made it illegal to use public roads to help someone exit the state to get an abortion. And that’s just the beginning, folks!
The right to travel freely in America is a right guaranteed to all citizens by the Constitution, with the obvious and odious exception of the 1793 and 1850 Fugitive Slave Acts, which also utilized lawsuits as enforcement. No wonder the GOP wants to destroy the teaching of accurate American history! We have data privacy, “right-to-travel” and abortion rights bills to call your legislators about, and a letter to Joe, but the biggest win will be from kicking every GOP legislator out of their offices!
“…as a first step toward the journey to full equality, we will have to engage in a radical reordering of national priorities.” The check from the “bank of justice” to our Black citizens is 60 years overdue.
“Domestic Terrorist” vs. “Patriot, White Supremacist, or Nationalist who commits violence”
Calling things by their accurate names is important. It’s been 60 years since the Rev. Martin Luther King gave his epic speech calling for civil and economic rights and an end to racism in the United States for a crowd of 250,000 at the Lincoln Memorial as part of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. The only thing Republicans can remember, however, is one line about a dream. Renaming it may help them remember both the true nature of that speech and that the racial disparities that MLK, Jr. railed against have only gotten worse due to government policies. (see EPI report: tinyurl.com/60-years)
“We’ve come to cash this check” vs. “I Have a Dream.”
Action – Tell Congress it’s got 60 years of progress to make up for! YOU who have friends/family in RED states – have them call their legislators too!
