SORRY, EVERYONE. DUE TO THE PREDICTED TERRIBLE AIR QUALITY AND HIGH WINDS, WE’RE CANCELLING THIS RALLY. WE WILL HOPEFULLY RE-SCHEDULE BEFORE THE FCC VOTES.
IN THE MEANTIME, DO THIS…
Join us as we protest outside the Verizon store against the rollback of net neutrality protections! Bring your signs, your voice, a friend, and your enthusiasm!
When: Thursday, December 7, 12-2pm
Where: Outside Verizon Store, corner of Main Street and Mills Road. We’ll be meeting on the sidewalk outside the Lowe’s Shopping Center, right across from the Pacific View Mall. 488 S Mills Rd, Ventura
Let’s get a crowd! SHARE, SHARE, SHARE the Facebook Event Page! https://www.facebook.com/events/322770811535492 <–click in to let us know you’re coming!
Join this nationwide effort with other Internet users outraged by top Verizon lawyer-turned-FCC-Chairman Ajit Pai’s plan to gut net neutrality, one week before an expected vote at the FCC.
We will make it clear to members of Congress that the time is now to stand for net neutrality, not Verizon’s bottom line.
PLEASE remember, this event is about protesting actions of Verizon executives, lobbyists and their supporters in Washington, NOT the employees at these stores.
Note that this is strictly a peaceful protest; any actions that oppose this will result in immediate exclusion from the protest.
John Oliver: Always amusing AND informative!
We don’t know who is going to have the next big idea in this country, but they’re probably going to need to get online to do it. The decision made today by @realDonaldTrump’s @FCC only tilts the playing field to favor the rich & powerful who have already made it. #NetNeutrality
