Trump’s proposed 18% budget cuts to the National Institute of Health (NIH) will impact research for cancer, Alzheimer’s, Ebola and Zika vaccines and HIV/AIDS. 90% of the NIH budget is focused on research and is so important, that Congress recently voted them a raise. Vice-President Joe Biden said, “This would set.. biomedical research, back 15 years.”
