Action – Join Indivisibles across the country as we call our senators TODAY, TOMORROW and FRIDAY!
There will be two votes in the Senate this week, one on Trump’s anti-immigrant bill and one on a clean continuing resolution (CR) that would fund the government through Feb. 8. We need to make sure that the Senate doesn’t pay Trump’s ransom.
Meanwhile, legislators are getting swamped with calls from conservative groups who believe Trump’s lies and want his stupid wall.
This is how the Tea Party took us over…
There are more of us! Fight back!
The phone war is so ON! Call your senator every day this week and tell him/her you don’t want your taxpayer dollars going to fund Trump’s wall. Use the same script over and over or mix it up.
Minimal script: I’m calling from [zip code] and I want to thank Senator [___] for refusing to waste our money on any of Trump’s extortionist anti-immigration bills and for their future “YES” vote on a clean CR.

Background
Trump and Mitch McConnell refuse to let their hostages go. The House has done its job by passing funding bills and sending them over to the Senate, where McConnell has refused (until now) take any of them up. Trump and McConnell are losing. Out of desperation, McConnell is planning to bring two bills to the floor for a vote this week. The first is an extreme bill that reads like Stephen Miller’s wish list.
The second vote is on a clean continuing resolution that would fund the government until Feb. 8. If it passes, it would mean that federal employees would finally get paid, affected programs would be funded, and our government would open back up.
It’s important that we first block Trump’s anti-immigrant bill, and then put pressure on Republicans to do the right thing and open up the government by passing a clean CR.
