We’re talking advantage of our great weather and a beautiful beach to relax a little, talk, and learn about what we can do collectively to keep families together and free, and take concrete action to help those who need asylum here, either economically, or from physical threat.
And in concert with potlucks like this across the nation this month, we’d like to raise money to help migrants with the issues that are separating their families. We’re planning on sending any donations to the Immigrant Legal Defense Center (ILDC), through their fiscal sponsor, CAUSE.
Checks should be made to CAUSE
Be sure to include in the memo line: ILDC
If you can’t make the event, you may mail your check to: 2021 Sperry Ave # 9, Ventura, CA 93003
What we do or don’t do matters! Trump was moved to change his family separation policy because of our collective public pressure. He lost support from his base on this moral issue. There is an important and untold story about the resistance to Trump’s agenda in small towns and rural communities across the country. A lot of people who live in communities that Trump won in 2016 are people who are standing with migrant families today. We need to get this story out. Our resistance to the adminstration’s actions makes a difference.

So come join in! Share this information with your friends and if you know a good place to post a flyer, there’s one to print out below.

Note: If you park in the lot, there is a cash-only fee of $1 per hour or $5 all day.
