Women have been voting for almost 100 years!

And before that, we marched.

Normally, Indivisible Ventura would be having our monthly last-Saturday-of-the month potluck get-together on this day. (BTW, mark down September 30 in your calendars now! We’re having some great speakers!) However, this month, there’s this awesome march, for us and fellow Indivisians from all over Southern California. Click here for all the details!

August 26, 2020 marks the 100th Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution, granting women the right to vote. As the group Indivisible Suffragists explains, ninety-seven years after gaining the right to vote, women are faced with the most openly misogynist, regressive, bigoted, corrupt and dangerous administration in United States history.

This year’s march is dedicated in memory of Heather, and all victims of bigotry and oppression.

We need to show Congress that there is broad resistance to Trump’s agenda. Join us. The predominate voting demographic in the United States currently happens to be women. …

Women in the United States were granted the right to vote on August 26, 1920, when the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution was certified as law. Thus in 1971, August 26th became designated as “Women’s Equality Day” in America. This August Recess, we intend to acknowledge the 97th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment in 2017 and beyond.

Please invite the public to participate with the Indivisible Movement and help us to organize this historic August Recess Event in a safe, legal and peaceful manner to rally the voting base, uplifting ALL Indivisible Groups across the United States, in solidarity of equality as we commemorate the countdown to the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment in 2020.
