Tax transparency is a nonpartisan issue. It’s simple: If you are running for President and don’t release your tax returns, your name won’t show up on the CA ballot.
California is one of at least 19 states concerned by Trump’s refusal to release his tax returns. SB 149, the Presidential Tax Transparency and Accountability Act, would ensure that future presidential candidates cannot appear on a California ballot until they publicly release their tax returns for the previous 5 years.
