STATE ACTION: Ask your state legislators to take the “No Fossil Fuel Money Pledge.”
(From +350 Conejo/San Fernando Valley) Fossil Fuel Money is Toxic! Every election year, fossil fuel companies spend millions to stop climate action and maintain their profits. During the 2020 election cycle, California legislators received more than $3 million in fossil fuel-affiliated money — and a third of those dollars went to Democrats.
To make real progress on climate, we need elected officials who will stand up for the planet, not polluters. We’re partnering with the team behind the No Fossil Fuel Money Pledge to keep our California legislators accountable. Please contact your representatives and urge them to take the pledge to reject contributions over $200 from individuals and companies connected to fossil fuels.
Taking the pledge means that a politician or candidate’s campaign will adopt a policy to not knowingly accept any contributions over $200 from the PACs, lobbyists, or SEC-named executives of fossil fuel companies — companies whose primary business is the extraction, processing, distribution, or sale of oil, gas, or coal.Continue reading “(2) fast environmental actions!”
