Today, take a moment…

Appreciate how fragile all our most important gifts are…

(far from an all-inclusive listing…)

Democracy

Free speech.

Right to peacefully assemble.

Free press.

Being allowed to petition our government.

Being able to worship, or not, as we please.

Being able to vote, regardless of gender, race or income .

Being able to marry the person one loves.

Being free of any law that deprives a person of life, liberty, or property without due process.

Clean air, water and land, safe work and public spaces.

Free, universal education.

Freedom to control one’s body.

And in this year of tragic events, our homes and our very lives.

Thanks to all of you who’ve joined in to protect what is great about America; making phone calls, holding signs at rallies, knocking on doors, helping immigrants become citizens and talking to fellow voters. We’ve been given gifts this year of friendship, support, knowledge and a deeper love for America than we’ve ever had before.

Have a wonderful holiday season, everyone. We’ll see you on the other side.
