The GOP’s Project 2025 will take their first opportunity to destroy true Medicare, substituting their donor class’ thin and shiny substitute, leaving older Americans poorer and more vulnerable.
We in Ventura County are very fortunate to have a very active chapter of the Physicians for a National Health Program, which we can tap for their expertise in issues like this.

This is not what we signed up for. I want [him/her] to pass legislation NOW that protects traditional Medicare and health care in general from a party intent on serving us up to their corporate donors. - If elected (god forbid!) Trump wants to ditch the ACA? Great! Let’s do this, not the options that make private health care corporations and equity pirates richer. In fact, let’s do this no matter who wins in 2024.
- (H.R.3421– Reps. Carbajal/Brownley ARE cosponsors! Thank them)
- (S.1655 – Sen. Padilla is a cosponsor, Sen. Butler…not yet. You know what to do)
- H.R.814 – Protect Social Security and Medicare Act – This requires 2/3 vote to mess with either. The GOP keeps coming for these programs to protect their oligarch friends from higher taxes.
- H.R.33 – Medicare Dental, Vision, and Hearing Benefit Act of 2023
- S.842 – Medicare and Medicaid Dental, Vision, and Hearing Benefit Act of 2023– These benefits would give regular Medicare recipients the same goodie bags that Medicare-Advantage and ACO-Reach use to entice new clients, but they would be less expensive.
- H.R.732 – Save Medicare Act – This is kind of genius – it simply renames “Medicare Advantage” as what it really is – an “Alternate PRIVATE Health Plan” that can deny care or dump us at any time.(This is HUGE because people are confused. If your plan has HMO and PPO options, or a gym membership, IT IS NOT ACTUAL MEDICARE!
