How does this canvass work?
What to Expect:
Your canvassing team will be driven to your turf by local volunteers, who will check in with cold water during your shift, and come back for you when you’re finished with the three-hour shift. You’ll work your side of the street in a team of two. You’ll stay in touch with the team working the opposite side of the street.
The First Congregational Church in Fresno is providing their multi-purpose room for our volunteers to camp in. You should bring your sleeping bag, a mattress pad, and whatever you need to sleep comfortably. We also have a block of rooms for two people to share, for $52 per person. To reserve your shared room, or to reserve your own room, contact me.
The hosts will provide the following meals: sandwich lunch and pizza dinner on Saturday; pancake breakfast on Sunday. The local groups are also providing water and granola bars.
Very comfortable, breathable clothes and walking shoes, hats, sunscreen, your own water, and any snacks or drinks you want to bring for yourself. Plan for 100+ temperatures each day.
All-State Volunteer Conference Call:
Please save the date for 7pm, Thursday, July 20th -we’ll have a conference call where we’ll provide last minute updates, answer questions, and make sure everyone is on track with their carpools. We’ll send the conference call dial-in number and instructions early next week.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out -I’m happy to answer any questions. I’m excited to see all you two weekends from now!
