Thomas “Angry-Conspiracy-Grandpa-nobody-wants-to-sit-near-at-Thanksgiving” Cole (R) – Holy Hellfire, Batman! Project 2025 has found its true soulmate in this very angry and fearful man.

Another angry old guy!

He doesn’t appear to have ever bothered to do public service on a local level, like running for city council, school board or dogcatcher, but who now believes that he deserves a post on a federal level with zero idea how government service works, how our economy actually works, and how important immigrants are to our country.

In the meantime, he keeps things fresh – both as an election denier and spreader of lies.

((electiondeniers.org)“[Candidate] Spread lies or promoted conspiracies about the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election or subsequent election cycles in public, including in social media, press statements, or comments to the press.”

We think he’s referring to the debunked election conspiracy theory film “2000 Mules, which was so profoundly dumb and dishonest, that the company has issued an apology and has halted distribution of both the book and the film itself.

However, he continues to spread lies that non-citizens are voting, as he’s obviously never been a poll worker, and is comfortable with false statistics.

We get to see how Thomas Cole would react to an emergency, such as the aftermath of Hurricane Helene!

Oh, he’s using his “X” account to spread the GOP’s false stories that FEMA used up emergency money on immigrants. He is also pushing Elon Musk’s false narrative that FEMA is blocking aid. Really helpful! Thanks, Thomas!

Hmmm… That’s weird! Why don’t see this in his feed yet?

Candidate issues in the news!

  • On suing educators: In 2023, Thomas wanted to ban a book he thought was a textbook, but wasn’t. He showed up at school to complain about it, but it was the wrong school. Then he trespassed on that school’s grounds to pass out non-school-and-non-parental-approved materials, and refused to leave until police were called. No arrest was made. However, he sued, of course, because the best response to a fuck-up of a day is to waste taxpayer money.
  • How it ended: His case was thrown out and the judge called Thomas out as a big old crybaby, as he had “failed to allege that he suffered any concrete consequences, as he does not allege he was arrested, charged with a crime, or otherwise prevented from speaking further.”
  • Election fraud claims start at homeon claiming voter fraud when his son, 22, lost to Steve Bennett 71 – 29%: His son, Charles, also without any relevant experience, ran for the 37th Assembly and lost bigly. Despite assurances that the voting was accurate, Cole remains dissatified, because the only result that would satisfy him is where his kid won.

What he said!

  • In his Ballotpedia questionnaire, we find repeats of his favorite themes.
    • Is for public-school-killing vouchers, per Project 2025.
    • Lists “Not a communist” as the quality that would make him a successful officeholder. Seriously.
    • “Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?” His answer, “Not if we’re winning,” is exactly what Barry Goldwater warned us against and the reason why our current GOP-controlled Congress has accomplished almost nothing – a total waste of space and money.
    • His “X” feed is so full of his hate and fear – transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic, anti-affirmative action, anti-Muslim, anti-CRT, pro-guns-everywhere, anti-NATO, you’ll feel like you’ll need a shower afterwards. However, we noted that his website has been scrubbed a bit from the primary, where he had previously demanded that single mothers get married to receive welfare!

Rep. Julia Brownley (D)

Rep. Brownley has been on the right side of most of the issues that matter to her constituents, and is an especially strong supporter of womens’ rights, and veterans’ issues. She passed legislation to expand services for veterans and open a new VA clinic in Ventura County which contains facilities specifically for women veterans. In addition, her legislation to name the new clinic after Captain Rosemary Bryant Mariner was signed by President Biden in Oct. 2022, becoming only the third VA facility named after a woman veteran in the country.

In this video, she describes another project…Let’s help get it over the finish line!

H.R.542 – Elizabeth Dole Home Care Act of 2023 has passed the House. Call your senators to get the Senate version, S.141, across the finish line. (Sen. Padilla is on-board, Butler hasn’t cosponsored yet.)Who is my senator?  www.usa.gov/elected-officials

Reproductive freedom is under attack across the country, including the right to IVF and other assisted reproductive technology services. In this dangerous national moment, California’s leadership is pivotal to ensuring inclusive and equitable access to IVF.

That is why I recently led an effort with over 20 members of the California Congressional Delegation in support of #SB729, a state bill that will expand health care coverage for fertility and infertility care, including IVF.

As the fight for reproductive freedom continues, I remain committed to ensuring all people have access to affordable fertility treatments and the right to choose if, when, and how to start or grow a family.”

Michael “I-failed-the-2024-Political-Courage-Test!” Koslow (R) – Sorry, Mike! Rep. Brownley already represents veterans and healthcare AND we don’t another Project 2025 drone like you.

Another older guy, with ZERO experience in governance in any public capacity! Oh, Joy!

So how can we know what this guy is really about, other that he’s looks and smells right to the GOP and the most right-wing wingnuts in our county?

For someone whose section on “American Ideals and Values” trumpets a commitment to transparency, his website leaves it to us to untangle what he means by this:

I am dedicated to upholding the core American ideals and values that have shaped our nation since its inception…America is not a democracy in the traditional sense, but a constitutional republic focused on individual rights. The essence of American values lies in providing every individual with equal opportunities to thrive, grow, and live fearlessly. I see the primary role of the central government, as ensuring security and safety, without undue interference in daily life.

Need some transparency here, Mike, not pontificating worthy of a 6th-grader running for class president. What does that gobblygook mean for the following issues, Mike?:

  • Women’s right to reproductive choice. Oh wait, someone has outed his forced-birther credentials.
  • Climate change
  • Election denialism
  • His support (or not) of public education
  • LGBTQ rights, including the right to remain married.
  • Transgender rights
  • Support (or not) of the Affordable Care Act
  • Belief in science
  • His position on gun control
  • Financial regulations that protect people from predacious corporations

In fact Ol’ Mike is so completely vacuous, he has failed the justfacts.votessmart.org Political Courage Test.

AS ALWAYS, CHECK OUT HIS ENDORSEMENTS!

A candidate is not required to post every endorsement they receive. When they do, it indicates that they share values and beliefs! Since Koslow has not yet served in public office, and is too chicken to state his beliefs out loud, let’s get a preview of how he’d vote by looking at the actions of those whose endorsements he’s accepted.

Whatever Mr. Koslow says in the media to appear reasonable, his posted endorsements, (which include Supervisoral District 3 candidate Kelly Long) tell the true story.

  • Co-chaired the Antelope Valley Covid-19 Task Force, an ad hoc group that brought together NASA, industry, local government and the Antelope Valley College to support front line nurses and doctors, for which George received NASA’s Exceptional Public Achievement Medal.
  • Serves as a board member of the Antelope Valley Economic Development and Growth Enterprise (AV EDGE), working to grow jobs and businesses in the AV.

Mike Garcia (R) – CONDUCT UNBECOMING OF AN OFFICER…or a legislator!

We looked up the “Core Values” of the Navy, as Rep. Mike Garcia was once a navy pilot…

“Be honest and truthful in our dealings with each other, and with those outside the NavyAbide by an uncompromising code of integrity, taking responsibility for our actions and keeping our word; Fulfill or exceed our legal and ethical responsibilities in our public and personal lives twenty-four hours a day. Illegal or improper behavior or even the appearance of such behavior will not be tolerated. We are accountable for our professional and personal behavior. We will be mindful of the privilege to serve our fellow Americans.

Seriously, Mike, WTH has happened to you?

You did this…

(electiondeniers.org) Rep. Mike Garcia “Refused to certify, or called on or pressured election officials to refuse to certify, the 2020 presidential election results or a race in subsequent elections based on meritless claims about election fraud, voter fraud, misinformation, or lies.” See this article.

And that was just the beginning.

On that stock sale:

On comparing the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago to Nazi Germany and more!

(LATimes) Letters to the Editor: Rep. Mike Garcia should be sorry for a lot more than his ‘Third Reich’ comment

  • Garcia should express remorse for not talking against Trump’s “big lie” about a stolen election, which has caused division and hate in this country.
  • He also needs to apologize for helping take away women’s rights that are supported by Jewish law.
  • He needs to apologize for voting against the Inflation Reduction Act. Granted, he may not like everything in the package, but he has made no attempt to improve it.
  • Let’s not forget about an apology for voting against lowering prescription costs as well.

On voting against funds, and then taking credit for them.

His disregard for the health and freedom of women in his district to choose for themselves.

  • He is not just raising his hand in agreement with his fellow misogynists. He is instigating the most extreme legislation.
    • Garcia signed an amicus brief asking the Supreme Court to overturn Roe and Casey.
    • Garcia is a co-sponsor of the Life at Conception Act, the federal personhood bill that would ban all abortions and certain types of birth control such as IUDs.
    • Garcia voted against the Women’s Health Protection Act – which would codify Roe v. Wade

His abysmal record on important votes that would have protected his constituents, so he can play politics with his rabid friends

  • “Nay”:
    • Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act
    • American Rescue Plan Act of 2021
    • Inflation Reduction Act of 2022

Rep. Brad Sherman (D)

(cahighways.org) “Brad Sherman has been representing this district (or the neighboring district, as two were merged a few years ago) since 1997. That’s a long time. He serves on three major House Committees. He is a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee, and a member of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee. In 2019, Sherman was elected to serve as Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship and Capital Markets. He previously served as Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Asia Subcommittee.

I have generally agreed with his actions in office, and he has been an effective communicator with his constituents. As his campaign page notes, this would be his 14th term (i.e., he’s been in office for over 25 years). That also means he has the seniority (esp. if Democrats are in power) to make a difference. That’s something that wouldn’t be true for a clueless newbie. I agree with him on the issues. So I would need good reason to replace someone I like.”

Larry A. Thompson (R) – Another old guy with ZERO public service experience who now thinks it’s his time to dabble out politics!

Meet Larry A. Thompson!

Seriously! We’re guessing this is either a “NURSE! GRANDPA IS SUNDOWNING AGAIN!” moment, or maybe he’s just used to doing crap like this as a “joke” and women laugh because they need a paycheck. Hard to say, but easy to say “EEEEW!” Link to watch this whole sorry video: https://x.com/ltbeverlyhills/status/1831746545374622206?s=12&t=LhTf92s61u3cXnSI9q2j7w

So why does Pants-Optional-Larry think he’s qualified to be a congressman?

He’s just another old rich dude who, at almost 80 years old, has NEVER bothered to serve his community in any real capacity – like working with the public as a city councilmember, school board member or a dogcatcher. Stuffed to the gills with self-importance and bored, he’s decided he now deserves a retirement career in civil service, but only near the top – as a congressman.

Luckily for him, along with our many-times bankrupted, felonious former president, he can just follow along with Project 2025.

From his website

Thanks, Larry! This is the shortest explanation we’ve ever seen of Project 2025’s mission to destroy unions, the regulations that protect us, and taxes on the rich and corporations.

(Paste)”This attitude shows how much contempt Republicans have for the very idea of government: they seem to think that you don’t have to know anything about government to run the government; hell, ANYONE can just walk in off the street and do it! This is because Republicans, in their heart of hearts, apparently don’t want America to have a government at all—or schools or taxes or health care or roads. The Republicans have been running for the past 36 years on a platform of anti-government rhetoric and worshipful veneration of the private sector; they act like this 21st Century high-tech Information Age nation should revert back to a feudal system of land barons and serfs, traveling via private toll roads, and paying tribute to whichever local church or warlord controls the biggest arsenal of AR-15 assault rifles.

We need people who are good at governance! Here’s a great video on this subject.

  • You can read more on why government is absolutely NOT LIKE A BUSINESS here:
    • (Paste) No, Stupid, Government Should Not Be Run Like A Business
    • (hbr.org) A Country is not a company
    • (hrr.org) The US cannot be run like a business.

So, back to Pants-Free-Larry…What else does he believe?

  • Well, this CATHOLIC candidate has some choice words for Jewish voters!

FAIR WARNING, PEOPLE! Pervy-Larry is calling himself a “MODERATE” republican for a reason!

This is to trick the homophobes and xenophobes who realize that “real” Trumplicans are bad news, into voting for him. But he will be just another vote for whatever his Christofascist buddy Speaker Mike Johnson, or his heartthrob Musk is proposing, including nationwide abortion, contraception bans and all the other Project 2025’s oppressive proposals, no matter what his website says to the contrary.

ABORTION RIGHTS: Hahahaha, No. SERIOUSLY! WE DO NOT BELIEVE YOU!

Nor did we believe Trump’s last three SCOTUS pics who said the same damn thing, right before they nuked Roe v. Wade.

  • (ABCNews) Justice Neil Gorsuch:That’s the law of the land [Roe v Wade], I accept the law of the land, senator. Yes,” Gorsuch replied.
  • Justice Brett Kavanaugh: “...I mean Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, been affirmed many times. Casey is precedent on precedent.”
  • Justice Amy Coney Barrett: “– who has described herself as a “faithful Catholic” — told senators that her “personal, moral religious views” won’t impact her judicial decision-making. “I have done that in my time on the 7th Circuit. If I stay there, I’ll continue to do that,” Barrett said. “If I’m confirmed to the Supreme Court, I will do that still.
  • Larry A. Thompson:I also do not believe in a federal law banning a woman’s right to choose.

Larry, a Catholic dude, was a “Founding Member Enthusiast” of the Museum of The Bible in Washington, D.C., which has been described as “It’s not really a museum of the Bible, it’s a museum of American Protestantism. Their whole purpose is to show this country as a Christian country governed by Christian morality.” (i.e. Christian nationalism revisionism) See also “Hobby Lobby smuggling scandal.

He was also knighted in Rome, Italy in 2017. Grand Prior, into the “prestigious Order of Saint Martin of Mount of the Beatitudes as a ‘Patron of the Arts and Protector of the Most Needy.'” though we see nothing in his bio justifying “Protector of the Most Needy.

if we get another GOP House, the first time abortion and contraceptive bans come up, this guy will vote for them as fast as his pants his the floor.

What is the downside about Harassment-Larry knowing zippidydoodah about politics, economics and governance? Wait…who in the back said “start a depression?”

  • He’s copying other GOP wanna-bes, like Thomas Cole, who are calling for the government to stop printing money. “This is the kind of “zombie idea” that won’t die, in spite of being proven wrong, because its simplicity is so politically appealing.
  • Oh, one purpose of printing money – as opposed to monitoring how much should be in the economy – is to replace old money, which is increasingly getting replaced by electronic funds. Physical bills only last ±6.6 years. Also, the amount of physical currency that people actually use on a daily basis is small compared to the total money in a system.

Between this hair-brained idea, and the GOP’s appetite for deporting immigrants – a huge source of labor for our agriculture, building and healthcare industries and whose taxes support our Social Security system, Trump and his minions should be able to send us back to the Great Depression. HEY! At least there’s the word “GREAT” in there!
